Make sure you have a good sense of depth when shooting landscapes. Shooting a person in front of the landscape will provide perspective and scale to your picture. If you set a small aperture, one that is not greater than f/8 (for many digital cameras that are made for consumers), or f/16 (on a full-frame SLR) you will notice that your foreground and background look sharp.
Many photographers ignore the foreground in their shots focusing on the background, but the viewer sees the foreground. You can increase the depth appearance of your photo when you shoot the foreground in a way that makes a great striking frame.
